If you want this change saved at the template level-meaning, all new documents will reflect this change-click the New Documents Based On This Template option at the bottom of the dialog box.
The default is to change just the current document. The default in Word 2007 is to add a 10pt space after. 
Paragraph Spacing: APA format does not add extra spacing (beyond the double space) between paragraphs. You can switch to double spacing in the Paragraph group of the Home tab.
In the Spacing section, change the At setting from 1.15 to 1. Set Spacing Line Spacing: APA manuscripts are double spaced and the default for Word 2007 is Single spaced. Right-click Normal in the Styles Quick gallery and choose Modify. click on the expand button in the bottom right corner of the paragraph section and mess with the distance between lines parameter The one is being shown. For instance, if you use Normal the most, change the line spacing in Normal, as follows: Word follows the naming convention Document1, Document2, etc. Perhaps the easiest way to change the default line spacing is to adjust the style(s) you use. When you click New (or CTRL + N) to open a new document in Word, it opens a copy of the default template Normal.dot saved in the Template folder. For better readability increasing the space is is usually a good. If you just want to change the line spacing, it isn't the best choice. In Microsoft Word you can change the line spacing as well as the space between paragraphs. 
If you want the complete package, the solution above is the easiest route. For example, Word 2003 doesn't automatically insert a blank line between paragraphs, but Word 20 do. Oh, that was a bit too easy, wasn't it? The truth is, this option will change more than just line spacing.
